Gutknecht Supports Marriage Protection Amendment
Washington, DC - First District Congressman Gil Gutknecht, co-sponsor of H.J. Res. 56, the Federal Marriage Amendment, today issued the following statement regarding President George W. Bush's comments on gay marriage:
"I'm delighted the President is joining the debate. Isn't it sad that we may be forced to amend the Constitution because of the irresponsible actions of a handful of activist judges? Throughout human history, marriage has represented special unions between men and women."
